Registering SARS representatives

Since April 2021, the South African Revenue Service (SARS) has required the designation of a Registered Representative. This role is given to individuals authorised to manage tax matters on behalf of legal entities, such as companies or trusts. It is essential to ensure that your organisation’s registered representative is current with SARS, as failing to do so will prevent the filing of tax returns or the initiation of new registrations.

The representative is responsible for attending to the tax affairs of a company, and is deemed to be answerable for the numerous activities and duties which are required to be performed by the company
